A Fox News expert said on Sunday that hate crimes against the LGBTQ+ community happen because children are not taught tolerance in elementary schools.
Following a mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Colorado over the weekend, Steve Rogers suggested to Fox News host Arthel Neville that laws limiting LGBTQ+ inclusion in schools do not help stop hate crimes.
"How do we tamp down hate crimes across the board?" Neville wondered.
"I think it begins in our schools, our educational system," Rogers explained. "We have to do a lot of educating in elementary school with regard to, yeah, people may be different in your eyes but they're people, they're American citizens and they deserve to have the constitutional protections that all of us have."

(21,611 posts)kids aren't being radicalized to commit mass murder in 7th grade mass class.
you can draw a straight line of hate from right wing media, to the parents of some kid, to the way they raise their kid, to the kid committing a massacre. We saw it on full display at Oxford high school in michigan where clueless gun humping parents not only ignore their kid's problems but gave him a gun to boot.

(2,827 posts)This attack wasn't well regulated whatsoever. And I'm not feeling any security from this partial reading of our second admendment. Gun owners should have insurance and registration before purchase. Gun owners should also have to be part of a group for collective responsibility. The gun industry and it's customers need to bear the entire costs of these attacks collectively. Let's let the Free Market adjust access against the true needs of having them.
