Former Surgeon General Jerome Adams says he is still feeling the impact of the Trump hangover, nearly two years out from his stint in the Trump administration.
People still are afraid to touch anything that is associated with Trump, Adams told The Washington Post in an interview published Friday.
Adams, who served as surgeon general for nearly all of former President Trumps term, said he had a difficult time finding a position in academia or the corporate world after he left the administration.
It was a lot harder than he thought to find a landing spot because of the Trump Effect, his wife, Lacey Adams, told the Post.

So Mr. (former) Surgeon General, you can't get a permanent gig because of the Trump stink...good!!

(14,967 posts)and a dangerous degree of decision-making driven by political and religious ideology rather than evidence. That ought to be disqualifying.
Appointed by Pence as Indiana state health commissioner in 2014, he mismanaged an HIV outbreak among IV drug users. From Wikipedia: "During an HIV epidemic in 2015, Adams initially opposed needle-exchange programs on "moral" grounds, but he later changed his position as cases continued to mount."
Then as Surgeon General he erred badly in his initial response to COVID-19, again in line with political/ideological considerations. Again from Wikipedia: "Adams initially downplayed the risk from COVID-19 by comparing it to the flu, which was criticized by experts."
He can take his complaints about being tainted by association or intolerant liberals or whatever and shove them up his ass.

And, let's see, he teaches at Purdue, has just been appointed Poling Chair at Kelley Schools. . . .does not seem to be unemployed.
Can somebody link me to his statements against bleach and hydroxychloroquine? I cannit seem to find any.
