(Memphis) Lawmakers push to end permitless carry in Shelby County

https://www.actionnews5.com/2022/11/26/lawmakers-push-end-permitless-carry-shelby-county/

A lawmaker from Memphis has a plan to remove the county from the current permitless carry state law that went into effect on July 1, 2021.

Tennessee’s permitless carry law allows the majority of citizens to carry a loaded gun out in the open or concealed without having to get a permit.

Police, mayors and politicians in the Bluff City are in agreement it’s a bad law for Memphis.

More at link.

A few days ago, 22 people armed with guns stormed a walmart in Memphis & stole countless merchandise. Fortunately, no one was shot, but this could have gone sideways quickly!

Memphis is #1 in violent crime in the country.

Now watch qpukes fight this as it's not aligned with pootin's agenda!

The meth heads here are wild & demonstrate no discernment, often shooting at police, random vehicles, homes, etc!

Let's hope thos works. Then ghey need to keep violeng offenders off the streets for many years. Problem is, judges keep letting them out!

in an open carry state enter a store. No police will ever stop this. By the time it takes to coordinate and stage an entry team, the criminals are long gone.

Many use their underage kids to break into stores, etc. Because they know law enforcement won't punish kids or the parents.

When I 1st moved here, I learned the gas station a mile away had been broken into 4 times by the same underage kid, driven there by his mother! I say lock them both up. Kid broke big plate glass windows 4 times to steal cigarettes & lotto tickets.

Unreal what goes on here. I was like "what?" When cop told me.

I expect state legislators to fight this initiative.

Law enforcement was against this insane policy even before state made it legal.

What we need are judges that do not let violent offenders out on streets!

My dh hates it and won't even visit. He was born in Baptist Hospital there and grew up in the city during the late Elvis era before the city turn into pure violent crap. He left for college and went back but a few times for his grandmother's funeral (not his awful parents').
