People who know nothing about the rules are complaining but this picture proves the ball was still in play. Plus Germany should have won their first game and this would not have mattered

And kudos to the referees on the field who called this play correctly. The assistant ref on the goal line did not rule the ball out of play, and it wasn’t. The ref on the field consulted with the AR, then correctly asked to the video review.
Bummer for Germany, eh?

A ball on the line like that and inside the net is no goal.

The guy got there AND made the play. That is getting overlooked.

I thought there was an on-site issue with the guy sliding but the pass didn’t go to him.
