Cannot believe it's this close. It's looking bad for Warnock.
Not sure what we are missing as Democrats. Warnock is the absolute opposite of Walker.
This is awful.

(11,631 posts)Is this the first time you've watched election results? C'mon man.

(4,845 posts)Walker took the lead after the red counties finish reporting all their votes but Warnock eventually took back the lead when the big blue counties finish counting.

(94,598 posts)Different counties with different voting profiles report their result at different times.
And none of these numbers include Democratic-heavy mail-in ballots.

(13,496 posts)I think it's looking pretty good for Warnock right now.

(4,845 posts)If they remain similar to Nov's number, Warnock has this.

(4,140 posts)Remember that the votes are not reported randomly so the current state of the count doesnt reflect the actual votes cast. And it wont until most of the vote is in.

(7,820 posts)This happened in November as well. Warnock jumped way out. Walker closed the gap. Warnock ended up ahead. Should it be this close? No. But the numbers so far actually look good for Warnock. Breathe.

(11,029 posts)And 2 years ago for that matter. Big lead, gap closed, R moved ahead, Dem came back when Atlanta came in.
There's 1/2 a mil outstanding in Atlanta. They're breaking for Warnock by 30 points. It's too early to call, but unless Atlanta collapses, Warnock wins.

Those who analyze these things for a living think Warnock is on track to win.

(28,946 posts)Warnock is going to win by around 5% or so.

(15,437 posts)But 5 isn't happening anymore. 2 points or less now.

(1,826 posts)And see where the chips fall? Especially when large voting blocks in urban areas are still uncounted?
As for what we are missing as Democrats- the only thing missing is an R after Warners name, for a lot of voters. And being honest, its the same way for much of our own constituency, well pick a bad candidate if he or she has the right credential- because numbers matter in the house and senate.

(31,112 posts)Kemp and GOP saw how Warnock won in the last runoff, so they made most of that voting near impossible this time

(19,066 posts)It will bounce around. For a bit longer and then Warnock will pull away for good in the last 10% of the count, which is the big cities.

There are plenty of blue votes left but I understand it's a depressing thought that many people voted for Herschel Walker.

Some places, you wait for the major metro area to come through. Until it does, it's like watching a basketball game between two good teams before the last four (clock) minutes. Lots of lead changes usually happen before then, and, as long as it's close, it will get decided based on who plays the clock right in the last four minutes.
Same thing with politics. Except the clock in this case is Atlanta, and Warnock was always going to show that he knew how to play it right.
