He can clearly afford it and resources will almost certainly be made available almost immediately for someone in his position. Unfortunately, however, this is not true for the vast majority of people who have the same need. It can take months to get an appointment with a psychiatrist - no matter how desperate the problem and how much money you have. Psychologists may or may not be more accessible. In either case, you’ll probably have to pay for it on your own, since most mental health professionals refuse to deal with insurance (and I can’t blame them).

It is tragic that so many people fall through the cracks waiting for help. We had a situation a few years ago where a prominent local politician’s son desperately needed help after attacking his father. But they couldn’t find a psychiatric facility that had an open bed. The boy committed suicide. We can do so much better than this, if only people like Ted Cruz would allow us to do so.

I've seen how a parent with borderline personality disorder can negatively influence a family.

Ted seems to take his religious hate-filled Non-Christian Christian rhetoric to a new level, and we all know he's not turning it off when he's at home. He distorts everything so he tries to come out on top. Developing minds and emerging personalities will face a lot of internal and external conflicts. I'm not sure anyone in congress likes him, including both Rs and Ds because he is such a mendacious self-absorbed fuck. Her help is in question because at that age, I'm not sure if her her discussions with counselors can be kept private and out of the hands of her parents. It used to be 16, then child privacy kicked in. I'm not sure if age 14 applies now, and where she lives. Also, her parents will be the ones shopping for and selecting the doctors she sees.

that she gets the mental health treatment, love and support she deserves. Depression and anxiety have been skyrocketing in kids the last few years. So many factors. I'm not going to blame him as a dad, but I really hope that he can scale back some of his rhetoric and be present for her. She obviously needs love and support.
