Amazon ads appearing on Nazi Twitter pages.

Also Snap, Uber and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

On Tuesday, roughly 40 brands had ads appears on the white nationalist pages, according to a review conducted by The Post. Those included the Voices of the Civil Rights Movement, a Comcast and NBC-led effort to honor the legacy of racial justice pioneers. Media companies including USA Today and Morning Brew were also among the advertisers whose content appeared on the pages.

… which then get bundled and sold with other ads.

If that is the case, it would behoove everyone who notices such things to write to Amazon et al. to notify them that you’ve noticed this and ask that they stop advertising on Twitter.

Now the only flaw in this plan is that in order to know this, you yourself have to be reading Twitter on a regular basis. Awkward.

Unless Elmo has changed a lot more in the past couple of weeks, Twitter doesn’t have “pages” with ads – instead, ads are randomly placed in users’ feeds, meaning that it’s possible an ad from one of these companies is appearing just above or below a tweet from a Nazi, but only by chance. The main point is that advertisers are likely to avoid Twitter just because of that chance.
