(53,961 posts)I am glad Warnock won, but it is really distressing that a POS like Walker was even that close to man like Warnock. While I am NOT comparing either man to the following, it looks like Santa 51.4%, Krampus 48.6%. I mean, what the actual FUCK?!

And yes, Walker was a totally unacceptable candidate. But he is also a sports folk hero in Georgia. And although hes obviously not smart, and we saw all of his gaffes and character flaws, he did have some appeal to voters. Walker did have a folksy way of teaching his voters and he was able to recite most of the right wing talking points that get Republican voters to the polls. Weaker candidate overall, but Im not sure many Georgians would have done much better.
Warnock for 6 years out of red Georgia, this are the things that help Dems hold the Senate.
