Ok! I'm going to give kudos to Walker.

He gave a concession speech and never mentioned Trump’s name. It was a decent concession speech by someone who should have never a candidate. We may not like Walker or his antics, but he was gracious in the end.

why his advisors didn't urge him to speak like that during the campaign. OTOH, am glad he didn't -- he might've won.

He seemed so relieved and so much more coherent after he lost. In that book, 12 Years a Slave, Solomon Northrop wrote that he learned to fake being stupid in order to put his captors at ease and get them to stop beating him up. I gather that these white racists are pretty easy to fool that way, because that fits their delusions of grandeur. What if he got some kind of money or privilege for playing along with them, and he just pulled off a truly great and well-deserved swindle on them?

he didn't go off-script...his whole persona was that of legendary football player..for decades he was coddled by the sports press, allowed to relive his glory days..no one asked him about the price of insulin/inflation/women's healthcare.. so when he ran for office at Trump's behest, he assumed the political media would ask questions no deeper than who was going to win the Super Bowl, confident the Black community would embrace him, protect him..he had no idea every inch of his life would be under a microscope, dirty little secrets/lies would be exposed..women he used and abused would come forward, his secret children would become headlines in all the tabloids...

and because he was way out of his depth, he did what Donnie did at political events and pressers ..he riffed, blathered, charmed, not understanding every story he told was dissected..to his credit he made it through the primaries and came close in a state wide election..the run-off was his undoing...his gaffs became punchlines, late night hosts cut Hershel to pieces in their opening monologues ..werewolves/vampires/erections..but the fatal cut came from Obama...

Don't cry for Herschel..

I just think Walker seems so relieved, maybe he realized that he was not cut out for the job of US Senator. That places him a cut above several others we could mention.

Herschel can never go back to the legendary sports hero signing autographs in a Las Vegas mall at a $200 a pop..the sheen of celebrity is off..he's a loser, a joke, manipulated by a madman..I guess not so much sad as pathetic...

He was gracious, gentlemanly, and upbeat. Until now, I didn't think he was even capable of being coherent.

Well done, Mr. Walker.
