Hopefully, what just happened in Germany will soon happen here.

Dozens of people across the country being arrested at the same time for the attempted over throw of our country. People like the fake electors, Rudy, Eastman, Powell, Meadows, Flynn, Boris, Navarro, Bannon, all being arrested at the same time. That would shock the American people and show them just how serious the investigations are.

Germany did their arrests before the coup took place. If our justice system fails to do this after an attempted coup we are truly fucked. The rule of law in America would collapse.

Our system must function as it stands until and unless it is corrected by the power of democratic pressure. You made a good starting list of obvious criminals. We unfortunately have impostors in our judicial system all the way to the top. We have rapists and worse sitting on our Supreme Court bench. Why else are these people on your list still not in prison?

How long can detainment last on arrest? What would be the process following arrest on this charge in Germany? On reading Wiki's take on the process once arrested, it seems very lenient to offenders once judges' investigations have been assigned unless a "hard-line" judge was selected - does that necessarily happen quickly?

DOJ doesn't leak but the actions that Jack Smith are taking lets everyone know that there is a new sheriff in town.

Smith doesn't leak either, but actual activity in an investigation leaves a very visible trail.

Now we see it.

For the first time.

But it didn't stick. We surrendered the peace, when Reconstruction ended. Plantation capitalism continued.

We could use a link to the Germany news.

Not the Nazi part, but the supremacy of white people and the desire to maintain white power and privilege. The FBI knew more than a decade ago that white supremacists were infiltrating police forces around the US. They did nothing. With a few exceptions, the FBI has turned a blind eye on the self-appointed militias and their growing violence. The exceptions I remember are Ruby Ridge and Waco, both of which turned out to show the FBI in a bad light. They also allowed the occupation of Malheur to go on far too long, but then were unable to get convictions.

Before 9/11, field officers tried to warn the main officers about Middle Easterners learning to fly. Those warnings were ignored. Field officers passed along information about plans for January 6, but that information was not acted on. Why? I suspect the response would have been very different if the intelligence was that a group of black militia members planned to storm the Capitol. The response to the BLM protests were much more violent by law enforcement than the response to the Capitol attack. I think white supremacy is alive and well in the FBI.

9. LEO is heavily infiltrated
Wed Dec 7, 2022, 10:36 AM
Dec 2022

1. LEO exists to protect the staus quo. It's reactive, not protective of citizens.
2. The reich-wing has actively encouraged joining LEO and military, and made efforts to recruit from the forces.
3. The legal ability to carry a gun and use lethal force and domination appeals to domineering right-wing mindsets.

Trainings and education won't filter out Klansmen. They know how to game the system.

There is a limited population of people with a constructive view of law enforcement: harm prevention, public assistance, etc. The demand for badge-wearers way exceeds that population, especially since 9/11. We're scraping the barrel.

Not to mention the legacy of Hoover and COINTELPRO.

"Federal prosecutors said 3,000 officers conducted searches at 130 sites in 11 of Germany’s 16 states against the group, whose members it said adhered to a “conglomerate of conspiracy theories” including the QAnon cult and the so-called Reich Citizens movement."

...

"Three other detainees, including a female Russian citizen, were suspected of supporting the organisation, they said."

...

"German media have identified as the group’s ringleaders Heinrich XIII, 71, a descendant of the noble Reuß family that used to rule over parts of eastern Germany in the 12th century, and a former senior field officer at the German army’s paratrooper battalion named only as Rüdiger von P."

Best believe we have their equivalents here. Flynns, anyone?

The video evidence drove home the absolute violence that ensued. I hate to say it, but the fact that the Capitol Police were attacked and injured made conviction that much easier to obtain. Without the actual insurrection, the defense could have insisted it was all theoretical or exaggeration. They still tried to do that, but there was too much evidence against for it to convince a jury.

That would enable LEO's at all levels to monitor the groups, including the use of wiretaps and so forth.
