One wonders if a candidate like Walker would actually be able to act as a political pawn, but Trump used him in a ploy to get more votes in Georgia and if Walker actually won, then he, Trump could say see I know it was rigged. I think Walker is not that great in public, but yet hes not the only one who acts foolish in many way. You only have look to Alaska, Arizona & other states with goofy Trumpster running for office. In the end, Trump was a LOSER in so many different ways! Just hope the House GOBers dont vote him in as the Speaker of the House!

(19,067 posts)But we only see one side of things here. Walker is also an iconic figure in Georgia sports history, he's a total folk hero, a legendary figure who won the Heisman and led the Georgia Bulldogs to a national title. There's no way to describe how big a deal Walker is in the Georgia college sports world to people who aren't big college football fans. He was basically unchallenged as the GOP's candidate, and that was more than just Trump endorsing him.
So yeah, he was a gaffe machine, and generally an idiot who lacked any qualifications to be a US Senator, but it was still never going to be easy to beat him. Warnock ran a good campaign and he's a good Senator. A 3 point win in divided state is nothing to sneeze at. And I don't think people realize how effective the Republican negative ads were about Warnock, they painted him as a BLM extremist who hates all white people.
So I get why everyone here is scratching their heads and wondering how in the hell Walker got over 48% of the vote, well, they shouldn't be, Walker was the best the GOP could do in Georgia, Warnock was just better.
