... to be happy and giving, and to make an effort to be diplomatically performative with family and the smaller community of work or other organization affiliations at the very least.
The pressures to be "joyful" and "thankful" are constant.
It's easy for those who are already living on an emotional knife edge, for whatever reason, to fall off and decide it's not worth it anymore.
Please watch for the signs, ask if they need help, and most importantly, listen without judgement this season.
This has been the time of year where I've seen people at both their highest and lowest, and.dealing with end of the year Holidays has always been the most overwhelming long-term and burdensome event for everyone I know.
Take time for yourselves, gather and keep close the resources you need to cope when everything you've tried to make "perfect" for everyone else inevitably falls apart.
