It's called "hypocrisy" folks.

"a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not".

Broadly speaking, Republicans "feign" to be decent patriotic Americans when the truth is they do not give a shit about decency, patriotism or America.

What they DO "give a shit" about is whether or not their words and actions are pleasing to Donald J. Trump. They are too cowardly to confront or oppose him and too shameless to be at all embarrassed by that.

If all the cowardly hypocrites were somehow purged from the Republican party, their next convention could be held in a phone booth.

And I don’t think they are even feigning that anymore at this point but it matters not to their fascist supporters who are in favor of it all.

She clings to the fiction that there are reasonable republicans. I told her if they're out there they're cowards. Useless either way, whether they're idiotic true believers or cynical hypocrites. Either way they do not govern, they do not serve, they hold us back and they hurt us. the whole party should collapse and disappear, and something better replace it.

5. The thing is, it's still a HUGE percentage of the country that is influenced by the crazy ones.

There are people who USED to be reasonable in the Republican Party.

The entire Republican Party is nearly a third of America, so reaching down into the people they used to be is imperative.

IF we help them fight against the insanity that is trying to destroy their party AND DOING A COMPLETE JOB OF IT then WE BECOME THEIR ALLIES IN SAVING IT. Then they can turn their anger at the real source of their problems and give us space to work on the problems that have been created.

Humans have evolved past a lot of the crap being used by the rethugs to control their people, but some of those old fears and logic still work on people when they are constantly bombarded with reasons to fear and attack others.

IF that party collapses, you still have all those people addicted to the crap they were sold and they will still be a problem, but without thinking there is a solution available to them via voting.

That leaves them with their guns and anger. Is that REALLY a good idea?

The "crazy party" has to be repaired or replaced. Democrats evicted the KKK from our party, so it can be done.

But when you let something this big die of natural causes it creates a VOID and that attracts even MORE CHAOS.

They want to fight? Give them the truth about their REAL ENEMY.

4. True, but I think you are over estimating the percentage who worship tRUMP.

The MAGATS that are screeching crazy definitely fit into your "BROADLY SPEAKING" category and their numbers have grown. Because they are so "loud" it sounds like more than it is.

BUT a lot of the Republican Party that used to be is still there, too freaked out about this change to know what to do. Like the frog in the pan that wasn't boiling and now is, they did not see the danger and now their party is a deadly place to be.

I WOULD STICK TO "THESE ACTIONS ARE THOSE OF HYPOCRITES" and let people decide if that is the moniker they want to live with or if they would rather change their party and/or their world. Lure the frog out of the pot for it's own good. IF it survives, tell it the truth and let it turn on those who lied.

I have seen sane and rational people that changed, like someone programmed in a cult. They became completely different. One family I know used to be card carrying, Union members, Democratic Party supporting Marines. Then Reagan broke the Pilot's Union and the DEMS couldn't protect the employees in the Airlines and the family blamed US. Turned back to Southern Roots.

AND with tRUMP demonstrating his contempt for the Constitution, that could cause many to look for anyone but tRUMP.
May not make a lot of difference if it's someone like DeSantis, but we have some power left to expose the lies and make people chose to follow liars or truth tellers.

can still get away with the horrible, antisocial, infantile behavior he told them was absolutely acceptable.

The politicians among them are only concerned with whether they can still profit from encouraging that behavior - because they have profited mightily these past few years - or if they have to pivot and pretend they never encouraged that behavior. The morality of the behavior is absolutely not part of the equation.

He made it OK to be a bigot and a sexist. As long as he encouraged that and made them into a happy club of bigotry and sexism, they did not care at all about the craziness. Because when you are spouting bigotry and sexism, you can believe you are superior to whole swaths of the population.

Hypocrisy, yes absolutely. He is chock full of feelings of inferiority, and all his actions have only one objective: to reduce his self-hatred and feelings of inferiority. His father made his brother a scapegoat. His whole life purpose is not to be labeled a loser like his father labeled his brother. Even though, deep down, he knows himself to be a loser.

TFG taught them all to live for that same single goal. They don't care about the ramifications. They have found their society of other losers who can all high-five each other and tell each other how superior they are, when deep down they know they aren't.

Powerful stuff. And the more inferior they know themselves to be, the more powerful it is.

themselves for some time? Time and artful manipulation by the media has twisted that political entity into the GQP. In your words, they are "cowardly hypocrites." In mine, they also lack the moral compass to lead by or in accordance with any national documents' "mission" statement, precedent legal finding, or holy book's written word or practices, or even some semblence of simple common sense, and that, my friend, results in hateful, corrupt, cruel, non-empathic, maniacal acts of public anarchy to do as one pleases without consequence that brings down civilizations.
