Reverend Warnock is a good Christian.

He's the pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, a member of the Progressive National Baptist Convention. They're about as progressive as Baptists go; they ordain women and have no church-wide ban on same-sex marriage. They aren't quite Episcopalian (shameless plug), but we do set a high bar

1. The important thing is that he isn't a *fake* Christian

like a few people I can think of, and he lives his faith without trying to impose it on others. Some were complaining about "the God stuff" in his speech last night - but that's who he is. To use the most apt term from another faith, Warnock is a mensch.

I'm breaking my own rule against replying, but you gave me an opportunity to make it even more clear so I'm taking it.

The "God stuff" he talks about is the "God stuff" we might all do well to pay attention to. Something something, sermon, mount…

6. EXACTLY

Christians that I know don't try to impose their faith on others.

Even missionaries I've met are there to spread the message and be of service, make a difference in the World.

Now Jehovah's Witnesses are a bit different, but they are in a category that opposes a lot of other Christians as well.

And when I think of the Fake Christians that are using it to make money off of people, I think of the Money Changers in the Temple and the Pharisees that Jesus rebuked for only giving lip service to doing God's will.


Being a Christian is supposed to be about having a personal relationship with Christ, which mainly means following his example in your own life and helping others as you are able.


Warnock is a Minister. He cares about "the flock" and that is part of WHY he ran. But he's smart enough to know, "Give to God what is God's and unto Caesar what is Caesar's."

Intelligent Christians KNOW that separation of Church and State is better for both.

2. So Georgia is in good hands.

He doesn't have a secondary agenda to grind and is there to ACTUALLY DO THE JOB he was elected to do.

AS is also proved by his term already served.

3. My concern is him being a good senator.

His qualifications for his past job don't concern me.

5. It makes no difference to me as he is a Senator his faith should not be a consideration.

that works to make people's lives better.

8. As an atheist I can say that there absolutely are good Christians.

Ones who are truly followers of Jesus and his teachings in the New Testament.
