Far-right Rep. Paul Gosar endorses Trump's call for the 'termination' of the Constitution

Republican Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona, among the farthest-right lawmakers in Congress, endorsed on Wednesday former President Donald Trump's call to "terminate" the Constitution over false claims of a stolen 2020 election.

"I support and agree with the former President," Gosar wrote in a tweet that included a screenshot of Trump's original post on Truth Social, his proprietary social media website. "Unprecedented fraud requires unprecedented cure."

On Saturday, the former president said that the "Massive Fraud" of the 2020 election "allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution."

Since then, Trump has claimed that the notion he wants to terminate the Constitution is "DISINFORMATION & LIES," though the original post remains up and he has continued to argue that he should be installed as president.

13. Has Gosar been reading Richard Sapir and Warren Murphy's books?

In the early 70s, Sapir and Murphy concocted a series of books satirizing the "Men's Action" books of the era.

The premise of the series is that the President has a secret organization called "CURE" that answers only to the President and operates outside the limits of the Constitution. CURE is to be used only in emergency situations when lawful means are ineffective.

Gosar's talk of violating the Constitution to implement a "cure" reminded me of these books. Gosar is loony enough to take a satirical concept seriously.

The word he is looking for is UNSUBSTANTIATED.

We certainly have seen fraud in elections before. It happens ALL THE TIME, just not in any kind of scale that would sway an actual election.

We see voter fraud, rarely, and usually based more on error than malice, except in the case of a few Republicans who knowingly cast votes they were not entitled to cast, or who voted in 2 jurisdictions where they have property.

What we see more of is Elections Fraud, and that is almost always exclusive to Republicans. All kinds of dirty and illegal tricks to mask their lower numbers.

We can do the numbers and see who is actually cheating, but I am sure they wouldn't want that.
