I thought it was rediculous - fun, but rediculous - when I saw it in the theater when it came out.
Try watching it now, in light of Russia's performance in Ukraine. It's even more rediculous.

(38,187 posts)I would probably enjoy it despite saying the original was better all through it, lol.

(5,509 posts)The remake is horrendous and never should have been made. It's not even the "So bad, it's good" of the original. It just plain sucks and isn't worth seeing.

(118,718 posts)watch it again. Such a ridiculous story concept at the time. But not if you are Ukrainian today.

(38,187 posts)I would watch anything that had Charlie Sheen, his brother, Anthony Michael Hall, C. Thomas Howell, and lots of others. Most importantly, if Matt Dillon or Josh Brolin or Sean Astin was in it, I was there.

(118,718 posts)So I was not seeing lots of movies. Not like in my late 30s when I saw tons of non horror, non Sci fi, and non fantasy films.

I will just say have Kleenex ready if you decide to watch it. It is well worth watching though.

(38,187 posts)I still loved that movie. It had that same group of teens in it that I always watched. I just always watched movies they were in, especially if a bunch of them were in the same movie together.

(2,216 posts)All set to fit into Ronnie Raygun's narrative of the violent communist dominoes spreading from Cuba to Nicaragua and then to hopscotch into the USA.
Warmongering at it's finest. A putrid Reaganesque movie.
My 2 cents.

(9,188 posts)and I do love it so! I paid to see it in the theater, and have probably seen it 25 more times on TV, and parts of it at least 50 times.

(11,234 posts)I gave some consideration about giving it another view, I haven't seen it in years.
