A sad day for Beatles fans but also the world. The day we lost John was a day I will never forget.

I was working the night shift at a cartoon studio when I overheard my co-workers talking about it. Like it was yesterday.

Life goes by so fast. The older you get the faster it goes.

One of those milestones…. Before Lennon died and after. Might have been… the end of the world as I knew it.

only 10 years ago, LOL - nope - 42 years ago - I was folding laundry and listening to music on the radio while awaiting DH to return from his class at the community college when the new "alert" broke...just like a "day the music died."

I was listening to the radio in my room and the dj said that John Lennon had been shot in front of his apartment. I went downstairs and my dad was watching Monday Night Football and Howard Cosell told America that John Lennon was dead.

Lennon had released Double Fantasy that fall and his songs were all over the charts. I remember feeling bad for his wife and young son and I also realized that the Beatles would never get together again.

one of very few things that the world can agree on. Regardless of type or style or even historically when. It has been a way to bring people together. To me it has always been a way to get closer to the infinite, source energy whatever you want to call it. Music has always been a way to get closer. The way you feel, the energy it brings. So much power in so enjoyable a thing. I believe John Lennon new this. His loss will be felt by many of us for a long time yet.

That morning, I cried over the news. It was a tough day.

Even so many years later, it is unacceptable.

earlier.)

They broke it in WNEW-FM and then it was a very long into the wee hours of music, and taking on air calls from the listeners.

Felt like RW'rs trying to undo another part of "The '60s".
