The current agreement gives Schumer control of committees.

I’m really not sure how all the committee assignments and balances are kept in check. I know Republicans do committee assignment by seniority except in cases of party change. I believe if a Senator loses a committee assignment due to party change, priority goes to the Senator who changed parties. I don’t know how that plays out in a split senate though.

I think there would be more possibility of that happening if her switching actually gave Republicans the majority.
