Since she's still organizing with the Democrats, her switching to Independent is entirely performative. Like everything else she does in politics, attention-grabbing but meaningless

There's no way she'll get more than 15% in the general, however. The only thing that's keeping her approval rating out of the toilet is crossover support from Republicans who won't vote for her anyway.

If she can position herself for the Independent vote, she could win a three-way race. I've never thought Gallego could win a statewide race, as much as I like him, he's not moderate enough to get the Independent votes - and I don't see him running a campaign like Kelly or Sinema did, courting the moderates with pledges of Independence and support from sane Republicans.
We'll see - I think it all depends who the Republicans nominate in 2024.

I had a feeling that the big sigh of relief about Manchin being curbed was premature.

So we can say what we want about her now.

Personally, I never trusted her. Good riddance.

Big Pharma wants Kari Lake to be the Senator from Arizona. I'm sure Pharma offered Sinema a good job when she is no longer a Senator.

This isn't about fame, it's about money.

DU seems to be reacting like Sinema is some sort of closeted republican who cant wait to complete her transformation. I think she actually stands for absolutely nothing and is a political opportunist. This move maximizes her influence and political chances going forward.
