(89,921 posts)Sadly, we moved and we had the disappointing Kurt Schrader. And then he got primaried and we eventually wound up with a Republican, whose first priority seems to be checking her makeup. At least from what Ive observed so far.
Mongo NOT impressed.
I miss Ted Lieu!

(82,849 posts)McLeod-Skinner didn't run a great campaign, but she knocked off Schrader, which was something, and I was wishing the District would trade up. Alas, it wasn't to be. Hopefully Chavez-DeRemer will get knocked off in 2024, and she can go back home to Arizona (an issue I wish McLeod-Skinner would have made a bigger deal about, especially with all the snide "San Francisco" remarks directed at McLeon-Skinner).

(89,921 posts)Its the first time that Im aware of, or can remember, that I will have been represented by a Republican. And Im not a bit happy about that.

(82,849 posts)So you wouldn't even dream about constantly pestering Rep. Chavez-DeRemer's office for explanations on her votes, demanding that she pay attention to issues you care about that she doesn't, and wondering why she isn't more representative of her district. Because that would be wrong.

(89,921 posts)I figure THEY work for ME. Even if their heart belongs to the enemy camp. If youre MY representative, youre going to hear from me. My Indivisible group has already broached the subject of reaching out to our new rep and booking an appointment with her. It would probably help to know a little more clearly what were up against.
