I had to log out before I started to make responses I might regret later. I seem to know a lot of very entitled straight white people. The third party people are the worst. They are all pissed that everyone in the world doesn't recognize the primacy of ALL their issues and fall directly in line. They don't actually want to do any work around issue advocacy or GOTV, but we should all do what they say anyway. My particular favorite, most people don't have IQs above 130 (well duh, it's a bell curve and that is 2% or greater) and anyone who did would support Gary Johnson I think I need to get off the internets and go outside and cool off.

(58,162 posts)last night they were in shock so i`m figuring they are still hiding under the sheets..

(20,819 posts)They're out in full force (including some family), telling us to "enjoy even more of your taxes going to support those who won't work", etc., etc., ad nauseaum. Then there's the whine about a "weaker military", never mind that we spend four freaking billion dollars a goddamn WEEK on it. Then there are those who claim that I cannot vote for Obama and still be a Christian (I'm a seminary student), never mind that rMoney is a modern-day Pharisee who "stores all wealth for himself, caring nothing for others" and never mind that both the OT and the NT are filled with near-demands to serve others, especially the poor, sick and needy, in other words, the social gospel, etc., etc. Never mind that rMoney would have been one of the ones Jesus would have thrown out of the temple.
And my favorite is that they cannot take what they dish out. They can post all kinds of nasty shit, but if I or another Dem friend posts anything at all remotely political last night, they'd post to "grow up" and "shut up", etc., etc. Truly amazing.

(45,358 posts)The mostly non-political Dems in my little circle are all being vocal this morning. And some non-Dems are actually "liking" what they are saying.

(20,819 posts)would know that there is no way they could vote for rMoney and his ilk and still look in the mirror and call themselves Christians. I'm a seminary student and I'm proud to say that my seminary practically exploded with joy last night, and is continuing it this morning.

(5,811 posts)Not one word and not a peep last night. I mostly have stuff from Family on FB and I do have family members who voted for Romney and were proud of that. So to not have one comment on FB is kind of weird since before the election I regularly had posts from them that were pictures of Mitt, pithy things he had said or other endorsements of the Mittster. Guess they had their hopes dashed last night and they are still licking their wounds. I had no intention of gloating or posting ONE WORD on my FB wall about the election in order to keep peace in the family. But they didn't mind posting lots and lots of things (pre-election) that some of them knew was an affront to me. It is very telling that they are laying low this morning. But I am happy they realize anything they write that is negative will be regarded as sour grapes or petty. I am sure they will wake up from their "bad dream" soon enough and start posting crappy stuff again, but the reprieve (for now) is NICE.

(49 posts)When did some of my old friends from high school become such racist assholes? I defriended a few last night....and am trying to just be patient for the rest, because they are clearly uninformed. But its amazing.

(2,367 posts)I'm in a creative field so I have lots of lefty friends, and a LOT of international friends, who by the way were INCREDULOUS that Mitt Romney came THAT close to winning.

The nut jobs were posting last night, guess they are out 'creating jobs' today.

(3,598 posts)who keeps saying that, because of fewer votes/states won than in 2008, Obama's win is really a "slap in the face" that "you can call a victory if you want." Oy.

(533 posts)On Facebook, speaking only to improve the silence. I took a peak; it is peaceful there; the righties are in shock, or thinking that the world is going to end.
I feel sorry for them, for their distortion that are bringing them down. They are my friends. But they spent month polluting my feed with garbage. If they really thought the President was some Satanic force then why act so cavalier about it all month with their "in you face" obnoxiousness?

(3,681 posts)Thankful Day 7: That God is the Supreme Ruler and that even when He allows negative things to happen, we can still be confident in His greater plan! Hopefully this will bring His children to their knees to pray so that someday He will heal our nation (2 Chronicles) and bring us out of the darkness... this shows us so much more of the mission field that lies ahead, sometimes our own neighborhood! Pray for and reach the Lost!
She also promises dark days ahead and the financial ruin of the country.
It has taken all of my restraint the past few weeks not to delete her as a friend. I just don't want to be that way.
