(5,125 posts)It fills my heart with JOY.
Happy tears, but also knowing how the REICH wing is turning people AWAY from helping others and of all the scams where someone will pretend to be in pain or need and then rob the people.
THE CONTRAST is so stark.

Bless your heart dear woman. We are in need of more people like you, they are seeming to disappear in large numbers these last years.

(2,692 posts)Abbott measures everything by political expediency. If sending a busload of border-crossers up north to freeze to death gets him votes, he'll do it eagerly and without a moment's hesitation. And, of course, he'll do it with a majority of Texans cheering him on and loving him for doing it.
(And yes I know, Texas, I know that millions of you voted to fire the bastard. But numbers show you are in the minority. Hell since Ann Richards lost to the dumbest of the Bush boys, Texans have voted for consecutive mean-minded people of limited intellect and no empathy for the suffering of others.)

(20,760 posts)And thank YOU, Mr. S, for sharing this.
A reminder I could use several times a day, in the face of the relentless selfish greedy hateful barren horror into which the GOP are trying to transform our beautiful world.

(9,291 posts)We just found out that our local Sheriffs office found a 35 year old man dead in an abandoned barn last night.
Im sure he was homeless and frozen to death. I wish we found him sooner.
What wonderful people, who just acted as good people do.

(218 posts)The stories of kindness towards strangers that have come out of Buffalo demonstrate the quality of people that live there. Sha'Kyra's graciousness and the articles about the family that took in nine South Korean tourists and their driver are reason to be thankful for the everyday residents that should make their city proud. All US citizens should be proud of them as well.

(5,843 posts)There is so much hate and animosity in the news lately, but I really do believe there are far more people like Sha'Kyra Aughtry in the world. We need to be reminded of simple human kindness. And hopefully each of us can remember this to make someone's day better.
