4. I don't think they do believe it. I think they are conmen tapping into a lucrative, gullible base.

The people who believe Alex Jones, who believe Trump, are people who are ripe for fleecing by anyone waving a cross or a flag.

They sell immortality to people who are terrified at the thought of death; it is a nearly foolproof scheme. There is, and always has been a lot of money in the religion business, where there is money there will be crooks. Why are we surprised when "men of God" go outside of the normal bounds.
