And the grift goes on?

Former presidents enjoy continuing protection from the Secret Service. In Trump's case, are those protectors housed at a Mar a Lago? Is the money for their accommodation still going into his pocket? If so, how much is he continuing to profit from his former office?

One more item to be filed under "There oughta be a law".

They think of social programs or petty criminals going to jail. The real expense is in escrow courts etc. that poor people never use

Much bigger than the social programs the GOP hates.

The issue is that the rich and powerful do not want to pay for anything.
They think all US wealth belongs to them.
And the people can fund government services.

The US does not enjoy the same safety net and standard of living as
other modern democracies.

and park it on Mar-A-Lardo's driveway front and center with lots of anti-trump bumper stickers.
Be cheaper than what he charges.

since he came down those escalators he's refused to share his taxes with us.

Said he was under audit.

He got elected pResident and the eyes of the world were on him.

You would think that he would be more careful when filing his tax returns to make sure that everything associated with them would be on the up and up. That way he could avoid any future scandals.

Yet he threw caution to the wind and with his cavalier attitude continued to follow his shifty filing habits.

In my opinion - that was/is just stupid on his part. He just continues to invite controversy.

the head of the IRS (and remember, everything with Trump is transactional) you can sleep well at night knowing you won't get audited.

There's always a quid pro quo with Trump. "Only the best people" always meant the best people for Donald Trump.

I mean, there's more than an even chance that he charged Tiffany full rental price to hold her wedding at Mar-a-Lago.

You are a rare politician with no money if you want protection you pay for it afterwards. Their salary can be on us but you pay room and food.

To protect him for free? Where's Kombat Kyle Chickenmouse? Where's the Jan 6th brain trust?

The problem is they'd get down there and see what he actually does and unlike the Secret service they'd blab.
