Yet ANOTHER T-bird data breach

https://www.bankinfosecurity.com/hacker-claims-to-have-scrapped-400m-twitter-user-records-a-20801

I guess they mean "scraped". Spell check replaces proofreading.

"A member of a criminal data breach forum claims to have obtained the emails and phone numbers of 400 million Twitter users...

includes alleged private email addresses for three dozen well-known personalities, including New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ethereum cryptocurrency founder Vitalik Buterin and cybersecurity reporter Brian Krebs.

The posting also includes a link to a spreadsheet containing 1,000 records, a handful of which belong to public institutions and whose listed email addresses appear legitimate."

What's more: the T-bird had to enter into a consent decree with the FTC about protecting users' privacy. I lost track of how many user data breaches have happened since Elmo took over. I wonder how long before enforcement actually acts...

"Defendant is ordered to pay to Plaintiff, by making payment to the Treasurer of the United States, ONE HUNDRED FIFTY MILLION dollars ..." filed 5/26/22

If I were on the birdcage, I'd be busy deleting stuff. It won't stop here.

fortunately. They pollute the sky (astronomers hate them), and cause collision hazards. But of course, they have collision-avoidance tech. Like a Tesla car does.
