"So supposing we hit the body with a tremendous... whether it's ultraviolet or just a very powerful light...and I think you said that hasn't been checked yet because of testing. Suppose you brought the light inside the body. Which you can do through the skin."
"I see the disinfectant that knock's it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injecting inside or almost a cleaning." A quote from the so called genius Trump. Staff attempted to stop Trump from saying this about Covid, they were over ruled by another genius, Mark Meadows.
Trump is one of the most incompetent, ignorant fools I have ever seen. If you look back at all the things people have said about Trump, people who worked for him. It is clear the White House staff had to hold Trumps hand, tell him what to do and what not to do during his entire presidency.
I believe people in the White House, hundreds of times, had to stop Trump from doing, saying stupid shit. Trump was never really in charge, he was too incompetent to handle the job. He simply listens to the people around him and then just goes with what sounds good to him. Trump was never really in charge, but at the same time he would use his power over all those around him. When he made a decision, no matter how stupid, you had to follow it or he would fire you.
We are lucky we survived the presidency of Trump the Traitor. One of the biggest fools that ever lived.
I would agree with this about Trump. He is one of the luckiest human beings that ever lived. That unbelievable luck may be about to run out in a very, very, big way.

(1,690 posts)Two types voted for him, the greedy and stupid ( MAGA morons). The greedy knows he is a complete fuck up but they pray at the altar of their wallet and they dont give a fuck about anything else. They figured the Democrats will cost them more money, so tough shit theyre gonna vote for that asshole no matter what.
The stupid voted for him because even if they might know that hes a fuck up he has all their nice isms that they have, racism, gay bashing, sexism, white nationalism and all the stuff they hate he hates.
When Barrack or Joe talk about our country and saying were better than that they are correct somewhat. The problem is they are talking about our side of the aisle not the other side of the aisle. The other side is loaded with trash unfortunately and they are not the better part of our society. For many of them its all about them all the time and fuck everybody else. Another factor is they seem to have an affinity for fascism and want to head us down the road of Hitler, Putin, etc and the worst that have come down the pike.

(21,405 posts)It will take a generation to undo the damage that Trump inflicted upon our democracy.
Trumps taxes will be released today that will show tax fraud and nothing will be done about it.
Those who believe that Trump is either an angry toddler or a half-brained idiot have fallen into his con.
As far as Trump running the country, he never wanted to do that, he wanted to destroy the country, destroy our democracy and use the presidency to make money.
Jimmy Carter is more intelligent than Donald Trump but Carter had to sell off his beloved peanut farm, Trump divested nothing of his businesses, he increased his investments while he was president, and nothing was done to him.

(10,076 posts)When he wasnt on executive time, he was watching Fox News. Perhaps we are lucky that he had no interest in governing since he spent so little time doing his job.
I agree that it will take a generation to recover from Trump and the devolution of the Republican Party into lying, hateful people who want to destroy democracy, but in the meantime we Democrats need to elect more progressive candidates to Congress who can then help overcome some of the Trump legacy. For example, DC and Puerto Rico deserve to become states. The Supreme Court needs four more justices to balance the extremist right-wing Republican cabal intent on destroying civil and personal rights while also elevating the rights of corporations and extremist religion.
If, heaven forbid, Republicans take full control of the WH and Congress in 2024, we may well find our democracy gone in a heartbeat.

(1 post)Reduced Viral Loads Seen in COVID-19 Patients Treated With UVA Light
Cedars-Sinai Research Involving Five Critically Ill Patients is Encouraging and Warrants Further Investigation, Scientists Say
Ultraviolet light treatments introduced into the tracheas of five critically ill COVID-19 patients appeared to be safe and associated with a reduction in the respiratory load of SARS-CoV-2the virus responsible for COVID-19in all but one patient, according to a study conducted by Cedars-Sinai.
The findings, published in the peer-reviewed journal Advances in Therapy, were based on five days of 20-minute treatments with ultraviolet A (UVA) light using a catheter inserted into the patients' tracheas. Patients were followed for 30 days. The findings were based on four patients; the fifth patient had no detectable levels of SARS-CoV-2 at the study outset.
The research indicated that the reduced viral loads appeared to be associated with improvement in the patients' clinical conditions as measured by a standard scale used by the World Health Organization. The investigators emphasized the preliminary nature of their research, noting that they did not demonstrate a causal link between the improvement in patient conditions and the reduced viral loads.
"Although our study suggested that ultraviolet A light may be useful in treating COVID-19, further investigation is needed to determine whether this approach can improve clinical outcomes," said Ali Rezaie, MD, FRCP(C), medical director of GI Motility at Cedars-Sinai and the study's corresponding author.
Rezaie, an associate professor of Medicine, explained that the study was limited by the small sample size and the fact that the natural history of SARS-CoV-2 levels in the respiratory tracts of COVID-19 intensive care patients is not well understood. Larger studies that include a control group are needed to further gauge the effects of UVA light treatment and to explore the mechanism of these effects, he added.
The study was led by investigators from the Medically Associated Science and Technology (MAST) Program, including Rezaie; MAST program director Mark Pimentel, MD, FRCP(C), professor of Medicine; Ruchi Mathur, MD, FRCP(C), professor of Medicine; Gil Melmed, MD, professor of Medicine; George Chaux, MD, professor of Medicine; and Gabriela Leite, PhD, project scientist.
Also contributing were other investigators from the Cedars-Sinai Department of Medicine, including Division of General Internal Medicine; Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine; and Division of Infectious Diseases.
Although UVA light phototherapy has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat several dermatological diseases, it has not yet been approved for internal use.
The Advances in Therapy study builds on earlier research by the Cedars-Sinai investigative team, performed using laboratory mice and laboratory cultured human cells, suggesting that UVA light could, under certain conditions, reduce the levels of certain bacteria and viruses that are similar to SARS-CoV-2 without harming the human cells.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proofs_from_THE_BOOK
Proofs from THE BOOK
Proofs from THE BOOK is a book of mathematical proofs by Martin Aigner and Günter M. Ziegler. The book is dedicated to the mathematician Paul Erdős, who often referred to "The Book" in which God keeps the most elegant proof of each mathematical theorem. During a lecture in 1985, Erdős said, "You don't have to believe in God, but you should believe in The Book."

A HERETIC I AM
(24,377 posts)I wonder if you have read any of the books that have come out about him over the last 6 years. I have gotten a bunch on Audible and listened to them while driving, and it's clear that not only was he treated like he was in charge, people were deferring to him out of duty to the system.
It presents a remarkable contrast. For instance, folks like Milley and the others in the military establishment who had their jobs for years and years had never been forced to deal with such incompetence before, particularly from someone who was ostensibly above them in the chain of command, but still said "Yes Sir" to him for the most part.
Sure, there were plenty of people and plenty of times when someone had to say "Sir, we can't do that" but the shit that did spill out of his anus shaped mouth that they had to go along with was mind-boggling. The famous Sharpie on the weather map episode is a perfect example. I think someone actually got either fired or seriously demoted because they didn't follow the White House directive to make him look like he was right. And he could NEVER be wrong, and when he was, which was with alarming regularity, they went out of their way to smooth out those wrinkles.
You're right though; The stories I've read about the amount of cringe worthy things he said and did on a daily basis that rank and file staff had to deal with, made the White House a totally chaotic place to work. Chaos like never before, in fact.
One thing is very clear after all this - Trumpy didn't want to do the job of being President, as he had absolutely no idea what it took to be one, but he sure as hell loved being president. He absolutely reveled in the attention, the fact that everyone treated him like he was...well..the president. He apparently loved having Marine 1 and Air Force 1 at his immediate beck and call. Remember that he flew somewhere ALL THE TIME! It was like Marine 1 was on the South Lawn at least 5 days a week. It seems to me that the motherfucker put more hours on those aircraft than Obama and Bush together. Unfortunately the Air Force nor the Marine Corps releases those figures, but it would be interesting to know exactly how much time he spent flying at our expense.
It's going to take decades to recover from that asshole, if we ever can.
