‘Detached’ Suspect in Idaho Murders Studied Under Famed Criminologist

.... Public records list Kohberger as a registered libertarian voter and a criminology buff who comes from a family of mental health workers. He is a criminal justice and criminology Ph.D student at Washington State University—and lives on campus in Pullman, just eight miles from the Moscow crime scene. ....

Kohberger completed his graduate studies in criminal justice this year at DeSales University, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, where students told The Daily Beast he took classes with Prof. Ramsland, whose courses included “Psychology of Death Investigations.” Ramsland declined to comment when reached by The Daily Beast Friday. ....

...this guy seems to be fascinated by the psychology of serial killers. Perhaps he was struggling with the urge and turned it into his field of study.

Sort of reminds me of the recent series with Steve Carrell, "The Patient" about a young man trying to get therapy for his obsession to kill. Won't give away the plot, but it was a good series. Steve Carrell is great in it.

so SANTOS hasn't killed that we know of, but his weird lying & personality fantasy/reinventing is reminiscent of whatever clinical diagnosis the VERSACE killer had.

Although I think libertarianism is rooted in a core misreading of basic economic principles, almost all libertarians I know are original thinkers with some strong abstract reasoning skills. That would make him a fairly crafty, dangerous criminal, one who can get away with a horrendous mass murder and evade capture for several months.

Obviously he's also an arrogant sociopath. Those people can be about psycho and highly intelligent too. Mostly I'm just glad he's off the street now

background, what lengths he went to to avoid leaving evidence? Would a guy like that commit a murder just to see if he could pull it off and outsmart the detectives? Then maybe there were more people in the place than he counted on or something like that went wrong?

I don't think these kind of killers start out killing so many the first time. It seems like with Ted Bundy that's more the kind of murders they commit at the end of their reign of terror.

Little-l libertarian: concern for individual freedoms

Big-L Libertarian: want corporations to be able to run roughshod over everyone else’s freedoms.

It is an outdated way of looking at it, because all of them - little-l or big-L, are all pretty much just MAGAt knockoffs.

The descriptions of him given by those who knew him over years sounds like someone hooked on amphetamines (uppers).

The old "diet pill" portrait. Once legally prescribed back in the 60s and early 70s for weight loss and other medical reasons.
