just put up a huge "I 'heart' Elon" sign in his yard.
Have to drive by his house on the way to the grocery store.
It's a frickin example of severe mental illness, but his frickin yard looks like a Donnie Dipshit rally is about to break out any minute.
At one time, he has a life-size Donnie Short Fingers manican right by the curb. I think he took it down after one too many rotten egging.
Yesterday, I noticed he replaced his "Let's Go Branden" sign with an "I Love Elon" sign.
In his defense, it does appear that Elon is an apartheid loving, racist dipshit, failing "businessman", with daddy and inadequacy feelings, so I guess it fits.

(6,694 posts)She avoids political conversations around them. But she did notice tfg 2024 bumper sticker was gone from their Cadillac when she went to her son's house for Christmas. Asking him the next day about it got a guess - the top secret document stash was too much. (The fil was in Vietnam and gets ptsd payments monthly. I know- socialist, commie, Marxist, taker, hippie, welfare queen...)

(47,485 posts)The absolute height of political tackiness and privilege. You'd think that instead of pretending to be down-to-earth and real, maybe they could try being down-to-earth and real for a change. Stop staging photo-ops and actually talk one-on-one with real people.

(14,906 posts)Unfortunately, I'm guessing there's got to be a very few here in NYC. I'm not sure anyone could get away with it in Manhattan which has extremely rare single houses if any are still left. I've seen a few waaaay long ago.
But, yeah, could be a few scattered about in Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, or The Bronx. So I hope I never see one, since I still bop about the Burroughs except S,I. from time to time

(12,392 posts)because you can have a tiny crappy old house next to a big rich mansion. Its because at one time the Keys werent fashionable and mostly fishermen had these very small affordable homes. Then, as the Keys became popular and people with wealth started coming down and buying up any land, they built big beautiful homes especially anywhere near or on water. But land is scarce; people hold onto their little bits of land as future real estate security. Its mostly the little trash homes where you will find renters who drive old clunker cars and fly a Trump flag. It is creepy to walk past those houses and I feel sorry for the neighbors across the street who have to wake up and look at that every day.

(9,249 posts)Sounds like he's sticking with what he knows and loves, and probably wondering why it never succeeds the way he thinks it should.
I bet this pattern is repeated endlessly in his life.
It never succeeds as expected because there is a huge conspiracy going on. Time to double-down!

(31,392 posts)apartment building I could easily spot my windows on the 17th floor during the 2020 election because my neighbors across the hall in a corporate rental had a Trump sign across their floor to ceiling living room windows. Management had us sign leases when we moved in that disallowed window signs, but never made the Trumpists take their sign down.
I moved to my newly built house in an HOA neighborhood on Jan 6 2021. I have quite a few Republican neighbors and I'm very happy that they follow our HOA rules and do not post signs of any kind in their yards.

(31,392 posts)I have a few flag flying neighbors, but some are actually Dems! In North Carolina voter registration is public information so you can look up anybody. I think that might be one reason there are so many unaffiliated registered voters.

I think he gets it from the same place his money came from...his daddy's blood jewel fortune.
He's become a darling of the MAGA crowd. That's NOT because of his support of racial justice and equality.

(20,692 posts)tfg sign up on a 12 ft post. The frame is still there, but the name is now removed: The sign is empty. He's still got t he blow-up frilly tfg thing blowing on the curb, and ugly signs in the windows. Sometimes he's got a van with the magat painted on the side. So, I think maybe there's a local law making him remove campaign signs. Dunno. It will return if the jerk really is in the running.
