George Santos claimed he was robbed of his rent money. NYPD doesn't have a record

The newly elected Republican congressman wrote in eviction proceedings that he was mugged, but police say there is nothing on file to back up claims he made under oath

In a sworn statement in housing court in 2016, Congressman-elect George Santos claimed he was mugged on his way to pay hundreds of dollars in back rent to his Queens landlord during an eviction case. The New York City Police Department has no record of any such attack.

A report from New York outlet Gothamist revealed that Mr Santos wrote that he was mugged on his way to deliver a rent cheque to Queens Housing Court on 15 January, 2016 in an effort to resolve his case.

The Republican wrote that he was “unable to provide a police report” and was told to return to police several days later to pick one up, according to an affidavit that was filled out under oath.

Now I know from more than 40 years as a New Yorker that the police department has its problems. But given Santos' difficulties with reality, I think we can assume this is another lie from the Republican conman.

Is there anything George Santos hasn't 'claimed'. He had Covid, he had a brain tumor, he was assaulted and robbed of his rent money, his mother died on 9/11 until she didn't , he's Jew-ish though was raised a Catholic, and . . .

No wonder he can't keep things straight and is a mass of contradictions.

For the rest of us this would be utterly exhausting. It's exhausting just to read the litany of lies.

Here's one thing I predict: Comedians will have a ball with this joker.

As in “I’m sorry that I don’t have my homework, Mrs. Farnsworth, I was mugged on my way to school this morning.”

Do I really need to state that the above is sarcasm???
