Took Second Home Covid Test After 2 Days - This Time The T Line Was Bolder.....

In my first test - the T-Line was faint.

I don't know what this means? Am I now in a more advanced stage of Covid? Is it running it's course? If I test in 2 more days - will the line get fainter again or will it not show up at all?

I'm not feeling bad except that my nose is a little stuffy and I cough from time to time. No fatigue. No aches an pain. No loss of appetite. No loss of sense of taste or smell. No fever or headache. No chills (I did have chills the other day before my first test).

Do I just treat myself symptomatically now - with an expectorant and an antihistamine?

I'm in isolation and not venturing out. I'm hoping things just run its course now.

Any suggestions?

Curious why you'd say a bolder line indicates less virus? nt intrepidity Dec 2022 #4

Slight fever, cough runny nose. Faint first time then bold, 3-4 days later gone no line.

I suspect that among those vaccinated it indicates a lower viral load and thus bodes well for a speedier recovery.

Treat as you would a cold as long as symptoms remain mild. Expectorant would be good if you are bringing up phlegm. Other than that mom's remedies (chicken soup, hot camomile tea with honey, rest).

Less systemic viral load overall is possible, albeit more excretions, phlegm, and cells MAY just mean a heavily contaminated sample diluting available virus.

These rapid antigen tests for this and other viruses may show a low positivity early after infection, but become progressively more positive with further virtual replication. Not at all uncommon.

it detects the actual viral particles in the sample, so a bolder line (assuming the test strip is from the same batch/lot# as the first one) means that more virus is detected. It could simply be that you swabbed more thoroughly, though.

It mainly informs you that you are actively shedding virus, and thus can transmit it.

faint again. Day 14 no line at all. He tested again the next day to be sure.

He had some congestion and a low fever on Day 2. Temperature went away after taking Tylenol. He had no symptoms at all by Day 4.

If you are 65+ I would suggest getting a script for Plaxlovid, regardless if your symptoms are mild now.

I would take a decongestant versus an antihistamine if you feel you need something for the congestion.
