I know why the GOP likes George Santos so much

There’s an old joke about a police officer lying in ambush outside a bar. About 2:30 am he sees a guy stagger out of the tavern, drop his keys on the ground, scratch up the door of his old shitbox trying to get in, and head toward the exit to the parking lot weaving around. The cop pulls him and finds he’s absolutely sober. “Officer, I’m the designated decoy.”

George Santos is too fucking stupid to be anything but a distraction. While we over here are having fun at this guy’s expense - and it is fun - the professional criminals in the GOP are criming unhindered.

Keep one eye on George Santos because it’s a guilty pleasure…and the other on the Trumps.

the guy isn't stupid...he understood the GOP has an inclusion problem and so he morphed into the perfect big tent "token"... gay, Jewish, hispanic, immigrant, educated, Wall Street, money, charitable...George Santos is Donald Trump's "love child"

To make the US look weak and ridiculous. And to distract and create chaos.
These candidates are also quite easy to manipulate.

...(it won't be by Republicans having the decency to get rid of him themselves) it'll make Republican's already-slim margin in the House painfully slimmer. They wouldn't deliberately set themselves up for that, probably not even when they were feeling sure of a bigger margin.

Nah, this is just a natural outcome of how Republican politics has been going. Of course someone was going to come along, see how much lying Trump got away with, and see if they could top that.

It's all about power for them and they'll do anything to keep any Republican in their seat.

...we'd be slower to condemn someone who fucked up big time too. Not as bad as Republicans are, but imagine losing all of the Biden judicial nominees for the next two years if we booted one (yes, it current would take two) Democrat out of the Senate.

You'd have to ask yourself if it would be worth it. If we'd been one seat short in the Senate the past two years, think of all the good things Biden got done that wouldn't have happened.

It would have made headlines and Fox "News" would be taking about nothing else well before the election.
