We got 2,217,735 votes for US House the GOP got 2,141,037 votes in NC yet the GOP won 9 seats to the Democrats 4. Yep they got 76,000 fewer votes than we did but got over twice as many seats.

If more votes were cast for Dems than Repugs, it would really undermine the legitimacy of the Repug-led House, since the House - unlike the Senate or the Presidency - is supposed to *directly* represent the people.

I checked Politico, the New York Times, and CNN. It also should be noted that some states don't count the ballots in an uncontested race. Thus we will never have a complete total.
