Wouldn't that be bold and in keeping with your campaign pledges to bring everyone together?
Why not consolidate all cabinet posts under a "Secretary of Business" and appoint Mitt Romney to it? Wouldn't that be BOLD!
-------------
These people done lost they minds. They hear the part of the speech where "we want to work together," but never listen to the part where he says "if the price of peace is .... that's not change, but surrender to the status quo..."
They're in for a rude awakening.

(62,325 posts)There were too many concessions to the Third Way and even to Republicans last time, and what good did that do as far as appeasing Republicans?
Republicans should never be appeased, they should be confronted and rolled over. It's about the country, not about making extremists feel wanted.

Yes, I wonder why they would think that? It's not like Obama mentioned it in every single commercial and campaign speech he made, or anything like that. OH, right. That's exactly what he did.

(1,828 posts)Did they even mention Gregg? And how the president reached out to him only to have the guy spit on his hand and then crap all over Obama every time someone put a microphone in his face?
President Obama tried to be bipartisan with his appointments, and those idiots acted like they were entitled to the offer while simultaneously turning their backs on him. Uppity president. How dare he.
Anyway, the president is a better person than I, and he may very well try to reach out again. But CNN should shut up unless they actually gave the background story, which is that he tried and they said NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO and NO!

(1,235 posts)...CNN has reportedly moved their offices to Boulder, CO.
Interns were last seen taping up the windows, giggling, and ordering "like, 50 extra-large pizzas, dude". In a surprise move, Wolf Blitzer has been promoted to "special correspondent to High Times and the X-Games".

(24,437 posts)Talk about maximum stupidity! They would NOT be calling on the Republicans to do something like this. Hell, even after the whole 2000 (s)election of George W. Bush, which practically demanded a bipartisan cabinet, NOBODY demanded that he appoint more Democrats to his cabint.

(36,437 posts)They said "He should appoint a Republican as SecTreas if he wanted to be bold and dynamic, but we hear he will appoint Lew from within his administration" (the implication being that doing the former would be lame and conventional). Yeah, it's so conventional to appoint your own people who share your philosophy and approach to key positions in your administration! How droll.
These people are not going to quit. Luckily, Obama outsmarts them every time.
