An Hispanic Republican - Solomon PENA, sponsoring shootings at Democratic homes

An Eternal Question, How can a *decent* person be a Republican? Another one, How can any minority (ethnic, women, low income, disabled, Gay) be a Republican?

Look how clean cut and killer-smile this Hispanic Republican is! Clean! And probably *articulate*, too! He’s trying the Greg ABBUTT Gambit of Appealing-Exterior pasted over Satanic-Interior. Or as Hamlet put it, "One can smile and smile and be a villain."

Court papers reveal details on former Republican candidate linked to shootings at New Mexico lawmakers' homes

New information has been released in the case against a former New Mexico state legislative candidate who was booked into jail Tuesday in connection with a series of shootings at Democratic elected officials' homes.

The complaint also reveals suspect Solomon Peña was "upset he had not won the election for public office," adding that he encouraged accomplices to shoot at the homes during waking hours and "intended to (seriously injure) or cause death."

Peña, arrested Monday in connection to the recent spate of drive-by shootings at four local lawmakers’ homes, was booked into the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center Tuesday at 12:26 a.m. local time, jail records show.

Peña, who lost his bid for a state house seat in November, is accused of conspiring with, and paying four other men to shoot at the homes of two county commissioners and two state legislators.

With their own thoughts, motivations, and experiences that shape their worldview?

People who express this sentiment - which is often - should maybe explore how they themselves view minorities and what expectations they are placing upon them.

Because this line of thinking is deeply problematic.

(Also, the tone of all of it is kind of gross, tbh. Tf is that clean and articulate stuff. I know the reference, but that's a fucking look to invoke every time a brown person isn't doing what is expected of them from some quarters).

I can see how some Hispanics can be Republican. Some have tunnel-vision focus on the abortion issue and refuse to think about obstetrical care, child health or other issues.

Others, like a portion of the Cuban emigre community, have a plantation-veranda mindset that dovetails quite nicely with that of racist Southern whites. (How dare those uppity people of color step out of their place!)

Then there’s this bird, who seems to think that people like TFG represent the epitome of manliness.

things like racism and all the evil things, in any group.

Terence said, with Montaigne, Maya Angelou, and others echoing.

Wiki: "One famous quotation by Terence reads: "Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto", or "I am human, and I think nothing human is alien to me."[2] This appeared in his play Heauton Timorumenos.[3]"

Montaigne: "I am a man, nothing human is foreign to me."

Maya Angelou: "I am a human being, nothing human can be alien to me."

the only thing that unites Hispanics is coming from the same lingual background (Spanish). Other than that, they can be any race, religion, political party, have different cultures, foods, etc.

Toms. They are richly rewarded for it. Seriously some of them are desperate to be white. I look at Afro Cubans like that Proud Boys head Enricio Tario of that Ali Alexander and think to myself you still better be careful at traffic stops. Cops will still light up your ass. They won’t know you’re an honary white.

Very on-brand for Republicans. If he can just put this niggling murder-for-hire nonsense to bed, he should have a very bright future with the party.

Pena’s candidacy came under scrutiny over the summer when his opponent, Rep. Miguel P. Garcia, D-Albuquerque, filed a court challenge to disqualify him because he had been convicted in 2008 of stealing large amounts of goods from several big box retail stores in a reported “smash and grab” scheme.

Pena served nearly seven years in prison.
