MAGA terrorists and insurrectionists are now on prime committees

In McQarthy's criminal, corrupt, pathetic need to get the Speaker title, he has put most of the MAGA extremists on the Oversight and Judiciary committees. He also removed Swallwell and Schiff from Intel and Judiciary.

That means the very people who planned and took part in the overthrow of the US government now have power over those investigating them for it.

This is another clear example of how Merrick Garland is failing. There is no way Biggs, Gosar, Gaetz, Greene, and Boebert should be on those committees. They should be in prison.

I personally do not see how this country can survive with so many treasonous terrorists running the government.

so too will these treacherous racists with connections to the Kremlin.

Remember, CSA Pres. Jefferson Davis was never prosecuted after the Civil War, although the Johnson Administration contemplated it. He spent two years in a brig in Virginia, was allowed to receive visitors, and then finally simply released. He made his way to Canada, then returned to the US, outliving Pres Abraham Lincoln by 25 years.

This, regrettably, is how the country will survive: A feudal state with half the population feeling tyrannized, the other half in a state of perpetual anger, SCOTUS maintaining the status quo, and the 1% continuing to hoard their Croesus-like levels of wealth.

Happily, I don't foresee Americans ever having to learn Mandarin or Russian because of enemy occupation. But I do foresee US military casualties, when our own secrets and technology are used against us.

...it won't...

...the Republican Party that invented, fake rigged election claims, big stolen election lies, physical threats against their opposition and insurrection all to destroy our government if they don't win an election has not been held accountable...

...Republicans created these undemocratic terrorist tactics and what price have they paid...?

...people seem to want to focus more on certain individuals and overlook the big damning picture...

...nobody seems to really give much of a rat's ass...

No, Santos already has access to classified info by being a sworn-in member of Congress.

Congress is not bound by the same rules as the Executive branch.

The USG uses three levels of security: Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret. These denote the level of damage to US interests should the enemy receive that information. Top Secret (TS) means grave damage to US interests, because it may reflect USIC sources and methods. The least damageable information to US interests is Confidential. Secret is in-between.

Then we have SCI information which means analysts or investigators must have a "need to know" that intelligence, regardless of their C/S/TS clearance. For example, the "Q" Clearance is Dept of Energy Nuclear secrets-- not everybody at CIA/DIA/FBI/NSA will have that, unless they have a "need to know". This method controls access to intelligence to prevent spills or leaks.

Congressional Members receive a certain level of clearance-- most likely Secret. The ones assigned to the Intel or Defense Committees will be granted an TS-SCI Clearance by the USIC. But if the FBI or CIA are unsure of a Congressional Member, that individual may receive a Tear Line version of the intelligence. That means that the sources, methods and granularity are disguised. The CIA and DoD personnel assigned to the Congressional SCI Facilities know their jobs. They won't allow a Congressman to leave with any documents or let someone without the appropriate clearance see something they are not cleared to read.

Persons "flagged" like Mr Santos would not be given a TS-SCI by the USIC. If he sits on a sensitive Committee, he will receive the Tear Line version of intelligence to limit potential damage to US interests.

If any DU'er worked in Congress, please correct any mistakes I may have made.

As should each of their fellow Anti-Americanists. I suspect Merrick Garland is a secret Anti-Americanist, letting off his fellow party members off the hook.

But there must be a reason why Pres Biden selected Merrick Garland to be USAG. Every Cabinet choice he made has been excellent. Perhaps the blame lays with Christopher Wray, the FBI Director that Pres Biden inherited. Where lies Mr Wray's priorities? Chinese spies? How about Russian spies!? How about disrupting the Jan6 attack BEFORE letting it happen?!

FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover ensured thousands of innocent Japanese-Americans were interred during WWII, but Pearl Harbor and the JFK murder took place under his very nose. This was an example of his skewed priorities-- perhaps that is what we are witnessing today with the FBI.

I am keeping my paws crossed that Mr Jack Smith will be more effective than Robert Mueller. And I hope that USAG Merrick Garland (who was betrayed by the GOP during his SCOTUS nomination) finally unleashes some earthly justice on the undivine.

ex-President Harry S. Truman wrote an Op-Ed in the Washington Post warning the US about CIA.

His Op-Ed only appeared in the AM edition of WaPo on 22 Dec 1963-- not in the PM edition.
