(10,839 posts)The Nazis did this--burned books, retooled the educational system stressing Nazis propaganda and chose scapegoats, most specifically the Jews, for any and all occurring problems.
If history doesn't repeat itself but often rhymes then we've been pitched into a rhyming fever with these deranged policy positions by calculating politicians, donors and behind the scenes movers and shakers, all of whom have decided that democratic governance is antiquated and cumbersome. They would prefer a system far more preferential to them and their fever dreams of endless power and riches.
We're watching the Road to Authoritarianism being paved, stone by stone. What's happening in Florida will not stay in Florida if the GOP has its way.
This is why we fight. This is why we must fight.
And win!
