4. I actually dislike it when these monsters escape justice by taking the coward's way out.

They're so terrified of going to prison that they take their own lives. I want them to live to face what it is they're so terrified of, and by so doing, get an inkling of what it is their victims suffered before they died. I no longer believe in an afterlife, or in any kind of divine punishment. So these subhumans need to face justice in this life.

7. That's because of paralyzingly stupid jurors.

"Oh, his mommy gave him the rifle, and he says he was defending stuff with it. Okay. Not Guilty!"

I think this guy today would have a harder time convincing a jury of that, no matter how stupid they were.

he was tried and acquitted by a jury of his peers, you may not like the verdict, I don't like the verdict, but he did not escape justice.

the person is inside and did in fact kill themselves, then that's a pretty good indication that they do have the right person.

We should know soon enough.

11. 12:21 pm, it seems that he is in the van and they have him pinned, no sign of death

I'm watching live.

LEOs are standing a safe distance away from the suspect's white van as I type this.

12. Barricaded individual in van may or may not be the suspect.

"At this point... ...we are looking at every possibility"

Important to remember that the individual in photos is only a suspect, and the van might be his or might be a different suspect.

This is an ever-changing situation.

14. The Police & Media Don't Like Reality

It's ridiculous listening to these "news" conferences.

Do the math. The guy shot himself and is dead.

Sure, take every precaution. But be fucking honest with the public. He's dead inside that van with a hole in his head. You don't want to say it's 100%, Fine. But they're 90+% chance sure.

The hemming and hawing is ridiculous.

15. The police in my county had a 12-hour standoff

one time with two dead bodies in a vehicle. They had shot each other.

As Arlo Guthrie once said "And they was a-usin' up all kind of cop equipment they had hangin' around the police officer station." They were as happy as an IRS auditor looking at you taxes. They absolutely loved it. It was twenty years ago and they still talk about it and how heroic everyone was being a hundred yards away from two dead bodies.

They've opened the doors of the van, it might have been empty all along.

ETA, body in van was slumped over and is being removed now.

establishing a perimeter, controlling traffic, closing roads, telling people to shelter in place, etc.

After the standoff they had here, the Sheriff's Dept. actually changed their uniforms from Khaki/Green to all black to "increase their stealth capabilities". If you saw four of them in a coffee shop with their black uniforms and shaved heads they looked like the crew from a Nazi U-Boat.
