Just in case you haven't connected the dots:

The RWNJ's in the House want to take the money that was deducted from your paychecks (or you had to pay the IRS if you were independently employed) and use that to pay the Debt.

IOW, you'd have been taxed doubly: once for your FICA, and twice for your Social Security.

AND, you might go bankrupt b/c you're going to get less money for your SS stipend.

get back Senate/presidency. Through their voter suppression they’ll claim they have a mandate to cut benefits then go ahead and do it. It’s their long game — just like getting rid of Roe. Dems need to expose their game plan.

Did you get your $300 check from Dubya? Bill Clinton left a surplus, and Dubya figured out how to get rid of it all at once: he sent everybody $300. Poof! Dubya played Santa Claus and the surplus disappeared.

They don't pay their taxes and many are self employed. When they claim losses year after year, yet have all the goods to prove otherwise, they are not paying social security taxes. They don't have a vested interest in social security.

Social Security and Medicare most retired people will have to sell their homes to pay for their living expenses and their health care. With that many houses suddenly on the market prices will drop like a rock. The hedge funds and oiligarchs will buy them up for pennies on the dollar. The Republicans will say that the Democrats ran up the deficit and so the Republicans were forced to get rid of Social Security and Medicare. One third of the public will believe the Republicans because they believe in the Republican scam. A lot of the other two thirds won't know what to believe. They don't know where we are now, they won't know where we will be then, they won't know how to get out of the mess, and in their fright they will look for a Strong Leader with quick and sure answers.

…and the screaming would be heard on Mars as younger folks realized Nana and Pop-pop were going to have to squeeze in with them.

Instead I think it’s more likely that the next generation is going to be faced with an empty bank account at the Treasury, because the GOP will have given everyone a “gift” of not having payroll taxes removed from their paychecks.

Damn, the Republicans have made me cynical.
