The discovery of classified documents at former Vice President Mike Pences home is complicating efforts by congressional Republicans to coordinate their lines of attack on President Bidens handling of similar materials from his time as second-in-command.
Pences team disclosed Tuesday that his attorneys conducted a search of his Indiana home out of an abundance of caution following news that classified documents were found at Bidens home and a former Washington, D.C., office he used after leaving the White House in 2017
The revelation came just as Republicans in Congress were digging in on Biden, painting the president as careless and possibly jeopardizing sensitive information.
But similarities between how Pence and Biden each handled their respective cases, with lawyers quickly notifying the Justice Department and National Archives, could blunt some of those GOP attacks against the White House.

These idiots will still attack Biden while ignoring what Trump and Pence did. They have no shame.

(12,545 posts)and Trump could be complicit as they are both concealing information probably to avoid justice. Pence and Biden are among the top Trump potential adversaries.

Quayle?
Carter?
Obama?
Clinton?
What do you bet each of the above has hired lawyers who as we speak are plowing through piles of musty file folders, rotting cardboard packing boxes, empty Chinese take-out containers, old pizza delivery boxes, empty (they hope) Amazon boxes, . . .

(298 posts)By anyone that has classifications to see them, it's apparent this country does not have our best interests in mind when it comes to securing our secrets. Isn't there a mechanism that keeps track of these documents, so this kind of stuff doesn't get out?...
No matter who has possession of these documents, they should have gone through them before they left their offices. Period. end of story!!!

(19,060 posts)They're getting memos that contain classified data and there's not proper procedures in place. I can guarantee that neither Biden nor Pence is responsible for filing these memos. No one did anything wrong, but a look at procedures around this needs to take place.
And of course, both of these situations are nothing like what Trump did with packing up and deliberately mishandling boxes and boxes of classified documents. Trump and FOX News are going to try to conflate the 3 situations. And of course, the whining from them when Trump gets indicted and Biden and Pence don't is going to be absolutely epic and will be a joy to witness.
Trump will get charged with mishandling documents and obstruction.
