Republican Rep. Spartz opposes McCarthy effort to boot Democrats from committees
WASHINGTON — Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-Ind., said Tuesday she'll oppose Speaker Kevin McCarthy's efforts to keep a handful of Democrats off key House committees.
“As I spoke against it on the House floor two years ago, I will not support this charade again," she said in a strongly worded statement. "Speaker McCarthy needs to stop 'bread and circuses' in Congress and start governing for a change.” Spartz's statement came in response to McCarthy's stated intentions to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., from the Foreign Affairs Committee and keep Reps. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., off the Intelligence Committee. McCarthy, R-Calif., has unilateral power to keep members off the Intelligence panel, which is structured as a permanent select committee and gives the speaker special authorities. But he may need the support of a majority of the House to block Omar from Foreign Affairs. Given McCarthy's slim Republican majority, every vote is important. With proxy voting no longer an option, even a handful of absences could sway outcomes in the House when the two parties disagree. One of my dreams is that several members of the Sedition Caucus are arrested and jailed. They can't vote by proxy so suddenly Dems have the majority. |

3. The GOP House now has the same respect and stature of the current 6 GOP on the SCOTUS.
It really hurts to see our country, even with all its imperfections, so totally ruined by the ilk of the current GOP controlled House.
I have totally stopped watching the news, even MSNBC after yesterday. Spend most of my time getting news here, listening to books on my audible app, or watching Netflix, Prime, or HBO. I had to stop with the news because it was leading me to real hate for some people. I don't like to feel hate toward anyone but the GOP House members are making it too easy. |

4. Democracy matters...
Time to dump McCarthy as Speaker and Rep. Spartz could crossover vote for Rep. Jeffries.
Another Republicans who claim to be about Patriotism and love of Country will crossover the aisle now and take the power away from these traitors trying to wreck our country for pennies on the dollar or kompromat. |
