(22,037 posts)And what Arkansas was thinking was similar to: at least it's not the black man. (Who in my opinion would have been fabulous.)

(16,412 posts)I'm very happy to see no one is body shaming her so far, as I am opposed to that sort of thing (except where TFG is involved, because he is pure evil and deserves ALL the insults, imo). But this is just a poor fashion choice, period, for anyone, regardless of their size or shape. It's hideous, for one thing, and does not fit what I think would be professional standards anywhere in this country.
She dressed better than this when she was working for Trump. Surely a state's chief executive should dress at least as well as a White House press secretary (or whatever her title was).

Did she? This look familiar?

The 80's called. They want their dress back

(16,412 posts)Even if the jacket is (painfully) out of style, it looks like she's at least trying to dress appropriately there. Now...? Not so much!

(47,119 posts)The whole sleeve is badly tailored. Fabric folding over along the ruffle.
Maybe a friend was taking seamstress classes and needed to make a practice dress.

(47,119 posts)Beautiful thin women have knee faces.
You know, if you look at the knees there are little faces on them?
ShazzieB
(16,412 posts)I don't see that as body shaming, but I imagine some might disagree. And this one certainly does have knee faces.
Irish_Dem
(47,119 posts)You can see the whole face. Head, nose, eyes, chin.
It is not about weight. When I was younger and weighed 105 lbs, I had cute little knee faces.
Well OK they are not so cute I guess.
Ok thanks for the ruling, I didn't want to body shame.

I love fashion but it is more than fashion in this case.
It is about presenting a professional look, like you are serious about the job.
Same with men.

Have to go to Twitter? If you don't, I can teach you.
LMK if you want to know how since you usually post lots of Tweets here. ❤️

(16,412 posts)I've always been able to see tweets here on DU, but I've been told not being able to see them has to do with certain settings on one's computer or device. Here's where I asked about it and the replies I got: https://www.democraticunderground.com/125620782

(102,285 posts)Oh, lordy, there aren't enough pearls in the world for that outfit.
We know what an unbelievable sense of denial she has, but how she can think this is a professional and flattering dress for her role as governor (or anything else, frankly) just amazes me.
Yes, fixating on clothing can be sexist, but I have no problem pointing out the same among men. And there are a LOT of RWers to direct the critique.
Irish_Dem
(47,119 posts)But it does take your eyes away from the dress.
I know, what is she thinking.

(47,119 posts)Of course that is not saying a whole lot.
She was giving a press conference and wearing some sort of unattractive outfit with boots, skirt.
Blew my mind. And her hair did not looked washed or combed.
No make up.
She looked unwell and like she had a bender the night before.
Today her hair is washed and styled. Nice make up.
Some jewelry. Looks like she had a good nights sleep.
The striped dress is so bad it looks photoshopped to me.
Certainly she would not wear this dress in public?

(26,109 posts)if you cant dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bullshit. Dressing crazy is a form of distraction from the substance of what she will be saying and doing.
