MSNBC: Prosecutors Vance and Litman were just talking about the Georgia investigation.

They said the Judge could make a decision on releasing the grand jury report as early as next week. If he decides to release the report Willis will most likely appeal it. She doesn't want it released for obvious reasons. It could make her job harder. There is testimony from Meadows, Graham, Rudy, etc. She doesn't want that released before she indicts.

Vance believes, going by the grand jury schedule, Willis could indict people in early March. Vance also believes many people will be indicted.

Releasing the report will taint the jury pool. There is no public need for this report at this point Lonestarblue Jan 2023 #14

a big segment of the dem base will be demoralized, including me. I, at least, will vote regardless, but how many others won't? We keep crying "Democracy's in danger, get out & vote!" but we let insurgents run for office, & not just any office either, but the highest offices of the land.

While I am by no means a lawyer, I have to believe that at a minimum he would be an accessory before the fact to the fake elector scheme. That is on top of his perfect call.

So unless the most serious charge that can brought is a midameaner, I don't see how he could be charged with lesser crimes than everyone else.

Not that a misdemeanor is a light charge, but he probably wouldn't serve jail time over one.

the judicial status of legal investigations and charges to be filed in any court?

"Ongoing" still has due process importance, right?

“Grand juries are authorized to recommend to the court the publication of the whole or any part of their general presentments and to prescribe the manner of publication. When the recommendation is made, the judge shall order the publication as recommended. Reasonable charges therefor shall be paid out of the county treasury, upon the certificate of the judge, as other court expenses are paid.”

Joyce Vance and Barbara McQuade go into a lot of detail - they both think it likely the judge will rule to release the report, which would not be a good thing for the prosecution.

can appeal. Use the same techniques as tfg. Should delay some. The prosecutors are Rethugs.
What can be expected?

a shit show. i'm hopeful but not terribly optimistic even though WE ALL HEARD THE FUCKING CRIME BEING COMMITTED

ETA both attorneys believe that Trump will be indicted. details largely unknown, will it be in GA? will it be documents? will it be the insurrection?

the upside is that they do believe at some point he will be indicted.

Georgia has a Special Grand jury that cannot indict for example. Other States do not. It was reported the Special Grand Jury voted to release the report. So they may have a law that a judge has to follow when it comes to releasing the report.

Willis must have known this could happen.
