I admittedly know nothing but: Old time Tommy guns are highly regulated :

Isn’t that precedence for restricting other guns?

Are tommy guns still illegal?

Especially post Bruen. I'm sure gun groups are planning on how to use that ruling to challenge the NFA. Will likely be challenged in the 5th Circuit.
