College athlete suspended for pushing (empty) wheelchair of double amputee down set of stairs

asshole of the month

Mercyhurst University athlete was suspended from his hockey team after pushing a wheelchair down the stairs.

The wheelchair belonged to a double amputee who was being carried to the bathroom when the incident occurred.

Carson Briere, son of Flyers GM Danny Briere, suspended for pushing wheelchair down stairs

Mercyhurst University hockey player Carson Briere, the son of Philadelphia Flyers interim general manager Danny Briere, and two other student-athletes have been suspended after Briere pushed an unoccupied wheelchair down a flight of stairs at a bar.

A video was posted on Twitter on Tuesday by a person who said they worked at Sullivan's Pub in Erie, Pennsylvania, showing the incident that took place on Saturday. The stairs lead to the restrooms, and the wheelchair's owner had been carried downstairs to use the facilities.

"After conducting an initial investigation into the incidents depicted on social media, the Mercyhurst athletics department has determined that three individuals in the video are student-athletes," the athletics department said in a statement Wednesday. "We have placed all three on interim suspension from their athletics teams per school policy, pending the outcome of the investigative process."

Maybe he should go back to high school for a year, or maybe remedial college, if such a thing exists.

Hi im Sydney and it was my chair that was pushed down the stairs. I’m so thankful for all of Sullivan’s help in this situation and the kind comments I see on Julia’s post. I swear I really don’t wanna keep a cent of the donated money, I’d much rather give it to those who need it.

the opposite direction, so many take a gap year or two, and thus start uni at 20 or 21 over here in Sweden. Plus you have older non traditional students, some in their 40s and 59s and even older.

I recall from an old thread here that there was an American footballer (American style 'football') who won the trophy for best American college player when he was 28 years old.

I would have said he is an adult and answers for himself.

As far as accepting full responsibility, that would be pleading out to vandalism and taking the maximum sentence because that is what he did.

"I was shocked to see Carson's actions in the video that was shared on social media yesterday," the elder Brière wrote in his own statement.

"They are inexcusable and run completely counter to our family's values on treating people with respect. Carson is very sorry and accepts full responsibility for his behaviour."

He's a 23 year old junior. I graduated at 19. The faster I got done, the less it cost.
