Only Class A felonies have no statute of limitations.
The statute of limitations has run out for all lesser crimes.
For lesser crimes the maximum statute of limitations is 6 years.
It's been about 6.5 years since the Stormy Daniels payment.
A Class A felony (New York) is the highest degree of felony and is reserved for crimes such as murder or treason.
I sure hope they have some red hot evidence that hasn't been reported yet because I don't see how a payment to keep someone quiet and not reporting it as a campaign expense can rise to the level of murder or treason.
The penalty for a Class A felony is a minimum of 15 years.

(4,575 posts)This case seems like death by a thousand paper cuts because of the paper trail involved in fraud crimes. If that buries him, I'm good with that.
