Norwalk police said they arrested Asheville, North Carolina, residents Jillian Persons and Austin Geddings on Saturday during a surveillance operation. Both were charged with larceny and criminal mischief crimes, as well as interfering with police. Persons also was accused of giving a false statement to police.
Both were detained on $200,000 bail. It was not immediately clear if they have lawyers who could respond to the allegations.

(17,743 posts)the other day in KC area. Spectrum cable lines were cut leaving many with no cable, internet or phone service. Hope those people are caught in our area as well.

(17,743 posts)where exactly it was. Saw it on local news Saturday morning and they just said several areas were without service because someone cut a cable. I dont have that cable service.

Not too smart as if that is substantiated that is likely a federal offense as well as stupid as plenty of alarms used leased lines to the Verizon central office or are now wireless as backup if not main mode of connection. Dude has those tight pupils so I'd say he is on meth too.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) UPDATE: Asheville Police Department said Thursday afternoon, Jan. 6, that Austin Keith Geddings was arrested and was being held at the Buncombe County Detention Center on a $75,000 secured bond.
APD said Wednesday, Jan. 5 that Austin Keith Geddings, 24, of Manning, South Carolina, has been charged with the following:
Felony First Degree Burglary
Felony Breaking and/or Entering
Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering (2 counts)
Back in October of 2021, Geddings broke into a woman's apartment located in Kenilworth while she was sleeping and stole several items sometime before she woke up the next morning.

The law is the law of course but its obvious many laws need to change.

Some underground utility work was being done near a place I used to work. They were being extremely careful because some fiber trunk line went through and if they cut the line then they could be on the hook for several thousand dollars per hour of down time plus the actual repair costs.
Hard to tell if these two were trying to steal copper or more wannabe domestic terrorist.

used to work for a company that did phone systems and network. Our dumpsters were visited by scrappers on a regular basis.
