We all wanted to see Tucker and Hannity on the stand, that's the disappointment here.

(31,676 posts)much like TFG, they probably would lie on the stand under oath.
Perjury charge and conviction would follow.
End of Faux Snooze (possibly).

(28,836 posts)The expectations many on DU had for the outcome of this trial boggle the mind.
None of that was ever going to happen. It had already been ruled that they lied. The only determination for the jury was whether there was malice involved. No one was going to jail.

(31,676 posts)I said they would lie under oath.
When one lies under oath, even in a civil trial... that is called perjury and it is a felony in most states.
If convicted of perjury, you bet your ass they would be off to prison for a good while.

(578 posts)They know they would get locked up.
They wouldn't go that far.
Has Trump lied under oath as yet?
If so, got some links?

(31,676 posts)Hannity... maybe him too.
Has Trump ever lied under oath...
well, there are all those loan documents and tax returns that declare he value of his properties. If you read them carefully you will see the 'under penalty of perjury" warning right where you sign your name.
He lied many many times on these... either to the IRS or to the banks for the loans he was applying for. He is currently under multiple investigations for this. Even arrested for filing false business forms. So yeah, he lied, and will likely be convicted of it.

(2,185 posts)I was hoping that something about civil process would result in a win for democracy. I was hoping that the liars who use our own airwaves and freedom of speech laws against us would experience a moment of um, embarrassment, at least! But alas, I am denied.
