https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/crime/rasheem-carter-death-mississippi-b2301332.htmlOne day in October, Rasheem Carter sent a chilling final text message to his mother.
The Black 25-year-old told her he was being chased by a group of white men in pickup trucks while they hurled racist abuse at him.
She never heard from him again.
One month later, Carters remains were discovered in a wooded area his head completely severed from his body, according to the family.
So why are Mississippi authorities saying that there are no signs of foul play?

(690 posts)They should be able to determine if the decapitation was a result of humans doing it, or if it was some sort of animal that did it. I suspect if the local authorities will be going with the explanation that he was having a mental break and then died while in the wood, and then the animals do what they do. Which does happen. There was a case near me a few years ago that played out that way. She even made a similar phone call about being chased.
Get some outside eyes on it ASAP so that they can determine if there is a local coverup and take actions if needed. And if there is no coverup, but just some unfortunate events, then maybe it would help give the family some closure.

All that being said, I hate the god damned South. I hate its constant pernicious racism. I hate its white supremacy. I hate its hard hearted fiscal and social policies.
I hate its States Rights philosophy that never does anything good for anyone.
I hate that other States have now been infected by the South and the hate and meanest are spreading.
