be locked away as part of the settlement?

Also, sticking the taxpayer for their judgement hardly seems like they have done us any favors.

Fox's business model is to incite their viewers to violence, which they are back to doing knowing any future civil judgements will also be taxpayer subsidized.

"lock away" what's already been shared. As for the "tax payer subsidized" settlement. Welcome to how it works in the US. This is NOT the first time a company has been able to write off a settlement as a business expense. What do you think Wells Fargo did when they got nailed?

Fox and their guests claimed that Dominion and Smartmatic were one & the same (or at the very least that one company owned the other), So what was said about one was said about the other.

Discovery will be nearly identical.

They suffered damages, and settled for what they reckoned to be a safe, satisfactory compensation.

I'm glad they stood up to the lies, and there's nothing wrong with doing that out of self interest.

Is I wish they would have spoke “much more” about their concerns about the Fox destruction of democracy by destroying confidence in elections. Dominion was fighting more for their rep and bottom line, not for the country. What they exposed will help our fight, but they were not fighting for our sake. I do not recall them talking about the damage Fox did to the Nation, and continue doing it now, by the lies. SmartMatic IS tying their case to the damage Fox did and continues to do to our Democracy.
Dominion did receive damage to their company’s bottom line, but the most damage Fox has created is to each of us. That 700 plus million will do nothing about the damage to the country.
But right, DOJ needs to be suing for US, and not many multibillion dollar companies have ever went to court to help us and Democracy.
No settlement SmartMatic, only accept full exposure and full accountability by not just Fox Corp, but the individuals from prime time that are still attacking our country with nightly lies.
