(88,925 posts)Looking forward to all the pageantry and Royal overkill! And obscenely jeweled crowns and crap. I cant help it. Im gonna eat it up with a spoon!
Im gonna get the Call to Action email as finished as possible and sit back and drink tea all day and maybe eat a few sweets I shouldnt eat and ENJOY! This is 70 years in the making and Im looking forward to giving it a few hours, and we dont even have to pay for it! And Im gonna watch and maybe gossip with some girlfriends and get catty and maybe even doze off once or twice.
Its gonna be a foolishly fun day!

I love all the royalty stuff. I got up ridiculously early to watch both of Charles weddings, William and Harrys weddings too. Maybe Ill make some scones for tea. Grandpa came over on the boat from Cornwall when he was a baby. Im in touch with a cousin whos still there and he thinks the whole thing is a waste of time and $$.

(12,595 posts)because that crown means he is head of the Church of England. Goes back to Henry VIII, when he decided he was head of the church. The First Amendment says there won't be that kind of state religion in the U.S.

King Arthur the second would have been better.
The Brits (mostly) love the pomp and ceremony of a coronation.
Almost as much as Americans love their guns.
I know which is less harmful.
